I raised my voice to my supervisor and said, "f**k it, ill do it"! Meaning i would take the tables upstairs. When I got back down, she, and the other two females who witnesses it, were gone. They were all together writing statements about what had happened. 3 days later when I was scheduled to work, my manager tells me to not come in for the shift, but to come meet with him and the supervisor the next day. I meet with them and without letting me say anything in my defense or letting me read the statements against me, he tells me he read the statements and they all said the exact same thing. He then said they can't tolerate that behavior and hands me termination papers. He did not say what i was being fired for at all I don't know if this makes a difference but the reason i raised my voice was I was trying to tell my supervisor I felt that she was being unjust to me and she laughed at me. It was the third time i tried to tell her I felt she was being unjust with piling all the work onto my shoulders and got laughed at. I truly loved where I worked and want to know if there is any legal way to get my job back?
Unfortunately Washington is an at will state which means an employer can terminate you for any reason or no reason at any time. But the reason has to be legal. it can’t be discriminatory or retaliatory. It can’t be because you of your race, religion, sec, sexual orientation, etc. it can’t be because you made a wage complaint or work injury claim.
In your case, it appears they may have terminated you unfairly but not illegallly. If you haven’t done so, file for unemployment.
One thing I always suggest is to perhaps contact an employment lawyer. Some of us give free consultations. It’s my experience that employers that act unfairly tend to violate other employment laws and you may have a claim you never even thought of. You might not get the job back but you might get money damages if you have such a claim.
