What RCW's pertain to impersonation of a police officer in Washington State?
Thanks!

Check out http://apps.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=9A.60.045. The law requires both overt acts of impersonating an officer, and the reasonable belief of a subject the person who did the acts is acting like a police officer. It's a 2 part test, looking at both the acts of the impersonator and the beliefs of the "victim." In other words, dressing like an officer for Halloween and asking for candy is unlikely to cause someone to reasonable believe you are impersonating an actual officer, and thus unlikely to be a crime.

Thank you. I actually found that one, but after reading the 1st degree description, I skipped this thinking that it wouldn't be related to police, either. Seems to me, impersonation of any LEO should be at least a class C Felony, but I guess there is a reason why it's not. Thank you for the quick response. I appreciate it.
