Employer continues to provide poor work environment. Temperatures over 80 degrees, no open windows, causing heat exhaustion. Temperatures well below 60, entire office is coughing sneezing and getting each other sick. Feels like artic air. People come extremely sick due to poor sick time policies and get others sick. Very poorly circulated air in an overcrowded office with no open windows allowing fresh air in.
Its exacerbating health conditions and causing things such as: sinus headaches that turn into migraines, nasal and chest congestion, asthma attacks. Simply being frozen for entire shift is also not only uncomfortable but painful. The cold is literally hurting my shin bones, making my fingers cramp and just constant shivering. We're using blankets (yes in an office) hooded sweaters, etc and nothing really helps.
Im being treated differently for getting sick (or more sick than others), although it's due to the conditions of the office. Made to feel like it's due to my overall health. This is not fair and feel that it should not tie into my performance when it's not my fault. Also, if I have no more sick time, what options do I have if they try to make me go without pay?
You could buy yourself a small space heater and a desk fan but, really, why do you continue to work there? Wouldn't you do better to find a new job?
Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.
