A video of someone I know pretty well of being arrested on national tv on the dateIine show 2 [email protected] a [email protected] has been on YouTube for sometime now accumulating a lot of angry, hate, and demeaning comments. Mocking and making claims. However the person was never convicted of the original charges but rather ones not as serious. The person posting these videos are posting the raw footage material and claim on their post they're protected by copyright laws etc. however, this persons moved on with their lives and has long forgotten about this up until recently. How can he stop these types of videos from being posted or what actions if any could he take to help him save his reputation that he's worked so hard to build back over the last 10 years.
If you're not the person depicted in the videos, it's none of your business. In short, there's NOTHING you can do about this.
SAN DIEGO CRIMINAL DEFENSE ATTORNEY--20 years experience
There may not be anything he can do about it. Arrest and conviction records are generally considered public information. He may want to consult with an attorney about getting his convictions expunged. But that alone might not be enough to get the information removed from youtube.
