What kind of sentence am I looking at with being charged with "Theft in the first degree" as a first time offender?

Theft of property in the first degree is a Class B felony. See, Code section 13A-8-3. A Class B felony is punished by incarceration (prison sentence) of not more than 20 years or less than 2 years, plus a fine of not more than $30,000, plus restitution as a matter of law. The fact that you are a 'first time' offender does not alter the statutory requirements.
