I enrolled in cosmetology school at the beginning of February 2018. I became uneasy with what students were saying about possible frand and my own treatment by my instructors. I quit just a couple weeks in on February 21st. I have not clocked in as a student since that time. I just went to buy a car and on my credit report is the 2 payments the school told me I'd have to sign to order with a date of June 18 2018. I never verbally consented nor gave written consent. When I called the school they first said I gave written consent then switched to verbal consent. They then told me they had mailed me "refund checks" for the payments I'd verbally "ordered" but I have bank statements proving I've never deposited these checks. I've never received any check.
You might speak to the lender (the bank that loaned the money, not the school itself) first and see if you can get it sorted out on your own. Otherwise you may have to pay out of pocket for an attorney to assist you in such a case (At least at first).
You need to hire an attorney that handles business law, contracts and debt negotiation. Attorneys such as myself can review your contract and see what you are liable for if anything and if illegal, force them to remove it. Consult today
