Surprise Inheritance of my grandmothers property in Bueno Aires Argentina. What attorneys and people here in the US can help me? Who can outline all the steps that need to be taken in the US in bringing an inheritance back from Argentina. Tax Laws?
Best bet is hire a tax or international lawyer in Miami who will be able to handle the US and Argentina issues you face. You find this in a larger firm to cover all angles. A large CPA firm (big 4) may also be an alternative.....as you will need foreign representation as well as US ...someone with good Rolodex is key for onshore and offshore issues you will face.
My answer is not intended to be giving legal advice and this topic can be a complex area where the advice of a licensed attorney in your State should be obtained. You definitely need to look in a big city for an attorney. Doesn't have to be in your home state. You will need an Argentine attorney, which your attorney in the US should be able to recommend to you. If you're talking to an attorney in the US, and they can't recommend an Argentine attorney, you don't want that American attorney to handle your case.
