Just received my 10 year green card last month. Now a lot of problems are arising. What is the process to divorce? I have already held the 2 year conditional card. since marriage 4 years ago. I have heard from a friend I cannot move out until divorce is filed because of marriage abandonment or something? Is this true?
Your immigration status has no bearing on process for getting a divorce. The standards and procedures are exactly the same for someone with a green card as anyone else. You should consult with an experienced family law attorney to discuss your specific situation.
