I was arrested a couple of weeks ago and when I was released I wasn't told my court date and I didn't receive any paperwork explaining why I was arrested or who my arresting officer was. Is this normal because it feels like I didn't receive all the necessary information.
A public intoxication charge is a "C" Class Misdemeanor, carrying a maximum fine of $50 and up to 30 days in jail. Normally a Public Intoxication charge is not terribly serious, but you may want to consider hiring an Attorney. Usually these cases are settled for a small fine and cost and sometimes dismissed or retired. You should have been given a copy of the warrant or citation. You can call the General Sessions Clerk and get a copy of your warrant or citation.
