I contacted what I thought was an escort via text message. Exchanged info such as what service I was looking for and her rates. We agreed to meet but when I got there, it was a sting and I was arrested for soliciting a prostitute. I was booked and let go with no jail time but have a court hearing upcoming. This is a first offense. What is more than likely going to be my penalty?
There is a statutory minimum of 15 days jail and it gets progressively harsher if someone has prior convictions. The maximum is 6 months jail.
You will want to obtain an experienced attorney to assist in this matter. Many offices, such as mine, offer free consultations. You can schedule one easily with me by going to my Avvo page.
Also, don’t put so much information on these sort of websites. There is no attorney-client privilege in these Q and As and if your identity were to be figured out, then statements made on this forum can be used against you if law enforcement were to find them. (Very unlikely, however)
