All stipulation paperwork has been entered for an uncontested divorce (took 2 months) ,case was assigned to a "special referee" to sign off on and its been 3 more months and still not processed. I was first told once it gets to a Referee, it should only take 2 months now I am hearing 6. That seems crazy to me.
6 months is a good ballpark estimate. Just keep calling the clerk's office periodically or checking eCourts to see if the JOD has been signed.
Crazy as it may sound, it is currently taking approximately six months in Nassau County for the court to process uncontested divorce papers, measured from the time they are submitted.
My experience is they are approximately 16 to 18 weeks backed up. you can call(516) 493-3446 for more specific estimate. Please keep in mind the paperwork tends to flow slower during the summer months.
