I'm 17 and I'm in foster care my birthday is on 08/03/ and I've been arrested house burglar before and got off on dej and I'm currently on dej and I got arrested for embezzlement and grand theft for stealing 6000 dollars in merchandise credit and I was arrested and I confessed and told them the truth and I wrote the judge an apology letter....what should I do or what can I do to make this better
You already made some huge mistakes. The first rule for anyone who is arrested is SHUT UP. You shouldn't talk to ANYONE about your case but your lawyer. That includes writing letters to the judge.
The court will appoint a lawyer from the Public Defender's Office to represent you. He or she can give you much more specific advice than a stranger on the Internet.
This is NOT legal advice. It is a general discussion of legal principles by a California lawyer, and does not create an attorney/client relationship. You should always consult PRIVATELY with an attorney.
I would do an online shoplifting prevention program offered at Tom Wilson counseling center or the National Association of Shoplifting Prevention. You can give the judge the certificate of completion of the program, which is about three hours long. You should otherwise speak to your attorney and follow his or her advice. Good luck to you.
I think I answered this one earlier today/yesterday....it's all a blur frankly. Since you mention DEJ, there's a lawyer in the picture somewhere. Contact your attorney. QUIT STEALING.
