My ex husband was in prison for about 2 years on drug charges. He was arrested on 7 felony drug charges but I'm not sure if he plead them down or not. He did not have any contact with my son for 4-5 years and also paid no child support during this time. In the past two years, he has been paying his child support and calling on a semi regular basis. If I would have know that I could have possible had his rights terminated then, I probably would have. However, I didn't know so I had his visitation rights reversed. However, now he is wanting my child to come visit him in southern Utah for a while this summer. He does live and grew up around Colorado City, AZ, where the large polygamous colony is located. In fact, his parents live 6-7 miles from there. I know I don't have to send him as he doesn't have visitation rights. However, he always makes it sound like fun for my son and I hate to put my son through a custody battle. But I'm not willing to send him down there without supervision that I trust at all times due to safety concerns that I have. As he has had recent contact even after 4-5 years of no contact, could I still request to have his parental rights revoked?
