What is a wife entitled to in a California divorce?
2 attorney answers
She is only entitled to 1/2 assets & obligations acquired through earnings during marriage which stops at the date of seraration - which does require legal separation, only the intent to end the marriage and not live as husband and wife.
Half the community property. That could range from nothing to millions of dollars. Then there is spousal support, maybe, that could be paid to one or the other. It depends on many facts.
