I was trying to do a visit and was told he's on GPS holding I'm not sure what that is or what that means this is my first time visiting anyone in jail but they have a freeze I guess and I was trying to figure out what is all this mean does that mean he's getting released does that mean he's staying longer
GPS can mean "General Population Segregation". If he has been moved from general population to segregation a "jail court" has charged him with violating a jail rule, committing a crime, and found him guilty, or found it necessary for security reasons, or for the safety of the inmate, that it is necessary to segregate him. If he violated a jail rule or broke the law by committing another crime, or fought with another inmate, or did anything complained of as a violation, he can be moved from general population, where he has visiting privileges, to segregation, where he loses his visiting privileges. You will never find out why until you speak with him due to so called "jail security reasons". So, sit back and relax. This could be a long ride. Sorry it is that way, but that is the way it is. This is my suggestion of one explanation for your questions. His lawyer can get to the custody classification issue. His lawyer can visit him. Legal visits can never be taken away. Hope this has been helpful, and good luck to you.
