I have applied for cpt in my college, I have got all mails from advisor saying you are eligible to work and graduate school also mentioned I can work in usa using CPT, I have found a job offer and applied for cpt, later my college suddenly changed rules yesterday and asked me to drop from this cpt, I already signed legal agreement with the company and I am in confused state, whether i need to drop my cpt or ask college I cannot do as you have already approved.
Have you gone to the foreign student office and talked to the DSO that signed your I-20 ... PERSONALLY?
If not, go and do it.
If so, tell us what he/she said.
I wouldn't worry about any 'legal agreement' you may have signed. You can't be made to work w/o a permit.
NOTE: May schools became know as 'CPT work permit, visa mills'. CIS, CBP and ICE have been shutting them down. It is possible that your school got scared because they were recommending CPT for people that didn't 'really' qualify.
