Hi, My wife has a valid EAD until 2018. In April 2015 we have travelled to our home country and our A2 has been changed to E1, E2, or L2. Question is - when we go back to US, can my wife continue to work on her existing EAD or she needs a new EAD.
You state that your wife's status HAS changed. Which visa classification that she acquire? E-1, E-2, or L-2? She can not possibly occupy all three. Please clarify.
If her prior EAD was based on her A2 status and she will receive a new nonimmigrant visa or status that allows work for dependents, she will need to apply for a new EAD.

It is no more. The EAD of this kind is tied to the status based on which it was obtained.
