I met with a cop today because he was instresed and what I told him last night. He’s making a case and said if I can help could be a possibility or getting everything dismissed. What’s the chances of that? I had got arrested for weed dui and gun but provided him the text messages of proof I didn’t know about the gun.
If you were arrested and obtained a lawyer, cop should not be talking to you (unless you waived that right). Talking about rights, you may want to read up on your Miranda rights, as you may be incriminating yourself in a crime, and anything you say can, and will, be used against you. Unless immunity or guarantee of charges dropped is on paper, you should not consider this a real offer.
You should review what the first attorney posted; as a matter of principle, do not talk to law enforcement after an arrest without a defense attorney present.
Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not. What determines Avvo Rating?Experience & background
