ITS FROM MY WIFE
It is possible that you could be held in contempt of court and fined or jailed but realistically, it's likely that the court will issue the Order of Protection in your absence. Right now the court has probably issued a temporary restraining order but if you fail to contest it, it's probably going to be made a permanent order of protection. Then if you violate the order, you can be charged with a felony. Also, while under the order of protection, you are not allowed to handle a firearm or ammunition.
Nothing in this communication should be construed as creating an attorney-client relationship. I provide this service for educational purposes only. I will take no action on your behalf unless you have hired me and a written retainer agreement is signed. I am licensed only in Tennessee and I strongly suggest you consult with an attorney in your city and state as Statute of Limitation deadlines can limit your recovery.
It will issue and it creates great potential risks for you. Don't be foolish. Speak to a lawyer.
