I was stuck in snow and bumped a parked car. My car was undamaged. The other vehicle, a well used delivery work van, was slightly dented and scratched. The police came and made a report and gave me a warning for improper passing. They said I needed to report the accident to the RMV, police and my insurance company within 5 days. What will happen if I do not report the accident? I am hoping the other vehicle won't report too and so the matter will disappear.
Once a police report is filed, and a ticket is issued, it's in the system. Failing to report it to your insurance will only prevent you from getting coverage if something comes up, or may be grounds to cancel your policy.
