My former employer owes me $2445 for back wages after I quit. Business closed and she has ignored requests from the Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity. If she does not comply with requests by January 2, 2020, a determination order will be issued. I expect her to ignore this also. What are my options to get what is owed?
The Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity should eventually turn the determination over to the Michigan Attorney General for enforcement. Determination orders are sent to the Attorney General in groups and it often takes a few months. When the claim is received by the Attorney General, you should receive a letter by mail. Contact the Department for further details.
