Can you please tell me step by step what happens after filing form I-130? Once it has been approved, what happens next? Will I-485 have to be filled out at some point? Thank you!By the way, I am petitioning my parents living in Ireland.
Good evening. If your parents are actually in Ireland, the National Visa Center will be the next step. Your parents will submit a DS-260. They will NOT file an I-485 since they are not adjusting status. Hopefully the processing will go quickly and your parents will be in the US soon.
First, make sure that you received the receipt notice. Then, you just wait until they contact you. If they take too long, you can contact them. They will either approve the petition or send a request for more evidence(RFE). IF they send an RFE... Make sure to reply timely. Once the I-130 is approved, USCiS will send your file to the national visa center. Once they have it, they will contact you and let you how to proceed. Good luck.
Assuming you are a U.S. citizen and your parents live in Ireland, once the I-130 is approved, then the case gets sent to the National Visa Center, and they will be asked to submit documentation and forms, which once complete will then be sent to the U.S. Consulate.
Once the I130 is approved, the National Visa Center shall process the case.
You shall be required to submit
An Affidavit of Support to show
You are able to support your
Parents, so they will not become

Then months later, the case shall be

Need to fill out an application
For an immigrant visa abd submit
Firstly, USCIS will have to approve the I-130 petition. After that, USCIS will send the petition to the Department of State, National Visa Center for processing, then NVC will contact you and your parents. You and your parents will have to complete certain forms and pay fees before the papers are sent to the US Consulate in Ireland. Your parents will have to take a medical examination and attend an interview. If the visa is granted your parents will have to travel to the US withinl 6 months of the date the visa is issued. You may want to hire an immigration attorney to assist you in this process.

Only US citizens can petition for their parents -no residents-, after the I-130 is approved by USCIS the case will be transferred to the National VIsa Center -Dept. Of State-. You will receive an invoice to pay and then you will need to fill in the Ds 260 and the I-864 -affidavit of support-. You will need to submit your taxes. If your income is not high enough you will need to find a joint sponsor -he need to have enough income to be joint sponsor-. After the NVC process is completed your parents will have to do fingerprints and medical exam in Ireland and then they will have the interview in the Embassy. No need for I-485, that for is for adjustment of status which will be a different process.
