I’m an Au pair. My American boyfriend asked me to marry him. I already checked about the 2year residency rule, does not apply to me.
Can I still be an Au Pair after my wedding or should I just wait the end of my Au Pair year?
There is no need to wait to marry. Once you are married, you can apply to adjust status. You may continue to lawfully work, as an au pair, with your valid J1 visa. Feel free to contact any of us for representation on your adjustment of status applications.
An Au Pair may marry a US citizen and be petitioned for a green card and file a green car application and continue working a an au pair after the wedding.
