Hi, I applied my I-751 Removal of Condition in Feb 2016. They sent me I-797C, Notice of Action back with one year extension for my conditional residence status. I have also attended the Bio-metrics appointment in April 2016. But since then I haven't received any updates on the petition nor the 10 years green card. My one year extension of conditional residence status and driver license is expiring in April, 2017. Will I be considered illegally staying in the US after that date? Could you tell me what do I need to do? I have read many websites including yours, saying it normally only take 4-12 months after filing but it's over 12 months now. Thanks.
You can make an appointment to go into the local USCIS office to talk to them and ask that they put a stamp in your passport indicating that your status is further extended. First, you might want to call the customer service number and ask to speak to an officer to try to determine what is going on and when you can expect to get a decision. If you filed your I-751 in a timely manner your status will continue while the application is pending.

Make and InfoPass appointment at the local CIS office and have it extended.
