I am a homeowner who is hiring 2-3 people to replace a roof. They are not contractors, I will pull the permit. What should I have them sign to release me from any liability/law suit if they are injured on the job or injure someone else. They do not carry liabilty insurance.
As an attorney who proudly represents people injured due to negligence, I find these types of questions repugnant. I trust that my colleagues feel the same way. You need to get insurance. I am confident you are not trying to do take advantage, but analogize this if the situation was reversed with you and yours. All the best, truly.
There is no magic form. Be smart and get roofers who are properly licensed and insured. Also make sure you have adequate homeowners insurance coverage. Good luck.

I am not licensed in MN, but I'd guess that any waiver they sign would be legally void, and you would be at least partially liable for any injury. Injuries in roofing work are often more severe than other construction because of the heights and weight involved. Call your residential insurance carrier and ask questions before you try this at home.
