My son has 2 kids living in MI and he lives in Indiana. He pays for child support for his kids and the mother of his kids has cut off all communications from him and his kids in Michigan. Also, he (my son) has found out recently that CPS were called to the mothers house due to her husband abusing my son's children. What can we do? Or how do we get started in taken action against the mother for my son to have visitation rights or to start proceedings in taken custody of his children in Michigan? Do we need to hire a Lawyer? Please help/advice. Thank you for any advice you can give us. Have a great day.
You should speak with me on this. Depending on the current parenting time order, it sounds like a rule to show cause should be filed to force mom to answer for the communications obstruction. Further, it is possible that a modification of custody needs to be entered. If you don't speak with me, you should find someone, this is not an area you want to go about filings yourself.
