my husband was arrested for domestic violence last week & a no contact order has been issued. i found out today that court has been postponed until 12/7...what does this mean? When will i be able to find out about our next steps etc.....i havent heard anything from anyone since the arrest
It means for some reason the case could not proceed at the time it was set. You need to speak to the prosecutor or investigator as a witness

As the other attorney states, it means that for some reason of another, the court date has been postponed. Usually protection orders are only temporary, so it may have expired or will expired soon, you need to have a separate hearing to make the protection order permanent. You can contact the clerk at the court to confirm the nature of the protection order.
