I appealed my unemployment determination. In my appeal letter it listed wi statute 108.4 (1) (b), (5), (5G), (7) and (7m). Also listed dwd 132 and 133. Im throughly confused on how to approach this appeal hearing. What do I do? My hearing is july23.
Your claim likely was denied because your termination was either for "misconduct" or "substantial fault", so you likely will need to show facts that you did not commit either "misconduct" or "substantial fault",
DWD 132 is the administrative code related to eligibility for benefits and DWD 133 is related to temporary workers.
You can find the references to the "law" by searching "Wisconsin Statutes Chapter 108 and Wisconsin Administrative Code DWD 132 & 133.
1). Read the statues in the context of the code that they’re in;
2) very quickly educate yourself on the applicable laws and procedures, or
3) promptly hire an attorney that works in this area of the law.
