I hired a lawyer for two cases paid in full on both. He never finish first one and a warrant was issued for failure to appear to a cop hearing that I new nothing about. Then second one he didnt do anything with at all. Warrant is now issued for this one. After several attempts to contact lawyer via phone messages, e mails, ect. He will not return calls or e mails this has been going on for several months now. What can I do. Am I out the money? Can I do something to get money back or report him? I'm lost and need help.
Generally the Supreme Court of a State makes provisions for the licensing and discipline of lawyers for misconduct. The Indiana State Bar Association might be able to provide you information on how to make a grievance. Some state organizations maintain funds to reimburse deserving clients. If you have a written agreement with the lawyer for services or other written proof that would help your position.
Since I do not know the facts of your case, I cannot give you legal advice and do not intend to do so. I only am trying to be of some assistance in helping you decide whether or not to hire a lawyer.
