I recently got a letter saying I owe$ 6,000 to the insurance State farm. I was in an accident back in April. I was getting off the curb and I didn't see the car coming up behind me and we crashed I know I was at fault. And I didn't have insurance at the time I do now, but don't know what to do
You will need to try to settle with State Farm and possibly set up a payment plan. If you do not, they will eventually file a lawsuit against you and if they obtain a judgment, they will be able to have your license suspended until you have settled or paid off the judgment. You may want assistance from a local attorney to make sure the damage amounts they are claiming are truly reasonable and to force them to actually prove their case. Attorneys cannot pursue cases on this site but you may contact attorneys directly.
