We have a 4month old baby girl and I'm trying to prepare myself for the worst because I have been a stay at home mom. His bond for theft is 20,000 and the failure to appear is 2,000. His charges are from wood county and he is currently in Greenville county jail waiting for transport. Can anyone give me some scenarios.
This must be an old case (the statute defining the degrees and punishment ranges for theft cases hss changed). Thefr $50 < $500 was a class b misdemeanor, punishable by up to 180 days in jail and up to a $2000 fine. Call an attorney in Grayson County.
The maximum punishment for the theft is 6 months in jail and a $2000 fine. He is probably looking at a lot less. His best option is to hire an attorney to investigate his case and advise him of his options. Good luck.

The ranges of punishments for both offenses vary by severity and by judge. You'll need to hire a criminal defense attorney in order to get the best advice and hopefully the most favorable outcome to your case. Best of luck to you and your husband.
