In September I was given two minor consumptions on separate occasions only weeks apart. The first being at a party and the second being a passenger in my own vehicle. I was honest about both incidents, they were blocks away from the university I currently attend, and I had no previous charges. I'm 18 years old. My mom thinks I will go to jail for some time but I feel like they wouldn't do the extreme.
Jail is unlikely but you should consult with an experienced criminal defense attorney to see if you could potentially avoid a permanent conviction by negotiating a term including probation and education classes. Call a lawyer in your area. Good luck!
Highly unlikely you will face jail time, but a conviction could impact your future opportunities for many years. Consult with a criminal attorney for advice.
You will want to have a lawyer appear in court with you to try to come up with a resolution where you avoid a permanent conviction on your record. Jail is not that likely in this scenario but the second charge also doesn't help things. Community service and some alcohol related classes is a common sentence in this case.
