Your case requires you to contact a personal injury attorney. Most of us give free phone consultations. The dog owner owes you your damages. Your damages will not be known until you are finished treating for your injuries. Will your injuries scar? How many stitches if any? Have you scene a plastic surgeon? Your medical records plays an enormous part in proving damages. Now that you know a little about damages, the next question is who is going to pay for your damages. Is the owner of the dog the owner of the house, or is he renting? If dog owner is the owner, he most likely has homeowners insurance, which will pay your damages. If he is a renter and there is other viable insurance policies. Your stuck in trying to get the money from the dog owner. Always best to try to work things out with the at-fault party if there is no insurance. If that happens, you can go after him small claims court if your damages are below $10,000. I'm assuming your damages are over $10,000 since you mentioned going to the hospital. In that case you will have to file in superior court. Before filing in any court you want to first make sure there is either viable insurance coverage or the at-fault party has property/funds so you can actually collect after getting a judgment. You can't take blood from a stone. Hope this helps.
You definitely need to hire a lawyer to present a claim. Take pictures now.

The dog owner is strictly liable for your injuries caused by his dog pursuant to Arizona statute. His/her homeowners insurance should cover it. Because the cause of action arises from statute, you only have one year from the date of your injury to file a lawsuit.
You have a one year strict liability statute. Be sure to retain counsel and pursue your claim before expiration of the one year statute. Take pictures of your wounds. You will also need to document your prior earnings and subsequent losses to recover them.
