I put in for vacation pay thru my job, March 3rd, I had over 90 hours the requirement thru my job is we must be laid off in order to take your vacation pay. We already knew we'd be laid off so I put in for it, they gave me my first 40 hours of vacation pay the following week, I was supposed to get the rest of it in 2 weeks...it came and went, I've called and asked and they keep saying that they don't know when they can give it to me, the guy even gave me his personal cell phone, he won't even answer now, I've left voicemails and he won't call back. I really need this money since I've been laid off since the first week of March. Is there anything at all I can do? I've worked at this job for over 2 years.
Depending on the past policy of the employer regarding payment of vacation pay when laid off, you may have a claim under the Wage Payment and Collection Law. You should consult with an attorney about your options. Good luck.
