I stayed at a hotel for 1 night and that same night a pipe in the sink burst and flooded the hotel room, my laptop was on the ground during this and it got wet, i asked for a refund and never got it and now the manager os avoiding my calls concerning my laptop.
If the manager is not responding to you, you can try writing to the owner or if it is a national chain someone at the corporate headquarters.
.Other wise filing an action in small claims court may be your easiest solution. If you look at the forms online for small claims the process is straight forward. You can always hire an attorney, but the cost of the attorney may be greater than what you would recover for the lap top.
Your homeowners insurance may cover the damage to your laptop. Check with them to see. If you bought it with certain credit cards, they might help.
I disclaim everything and make no represention of the applicability or accuracy of anything I said here. You are not my client; i am not your attorney. I thought about making this disclaimer as a poem and quickly decided not to do so. Robert Frost can sleep easy.
I'd suggest filing a Complaint in Small Claims Court, but maybe sending a letter to a Vice-President of the hotel chain could help.
Good luck with your case!
