On 5/7/16 I was a victim of assault on the clock from a fellow employee who on 5/5/16 threatened to kill me, dismember me, grind me up to a pulp and make chilli out of me and feed me to homeless people. Said employee has made numerous threats before this and was reported to the store manager multiple times who just laughed it off and called it a "joke" now on 5/9/16 I reported the assault to both the store manager and district manager who was doing his usual visiting both of which tried to make it out to be nothing. When I spoke with the store manager privately about the incident and explained what happened in detail he told me clearly "Courts wouldn't want to see a case like this, it doesn't matter if it is illegal or not as people get away with worse all the time" and "A case like this will never make it to the courts" but assured me he would deal with the situation. Now exactly a week later things have just made a turn for the worse as said employee still is threatening my life and getting other employees to join in even members of management were reported for joining in. I am terrified of going to work, scared that both myself and my family are in danger of being harmed.
You did not state what the assault was, but certainly if there is a threat, it should be reported to HR immediately, including the fact that you reported it to your manager previously. Are there any employees or other witnesses who would support your side of the story?
