My family has over 200 acres of land in east texas that has wells and gas units that are getting drilled. My contract was for 5 years in 2006. Recently I found out cabot oil just released sold our land to another company. I inquired with Cabot oil about our land after seeing their net worth at almost $1bil. I spoke to a gentleman at the Houston cabot oil and he told me to tell the judge I got my contract from the court and not him. That was the first conversation where he emailed me my contract. I'm finding out Cabot oil sold there shares because of the dimock,pa. The gentleman at Cabot oil yelled at me and hung up in my face when I inquired about that also. The last 13 years I've only recieved a total of 700 dollars. The new gas company Aethon can't give me a date of my contract with them. Also I can't get a call back.
You need an oil & gas litigation attorney. The lease generally follows the land despite changes of ownership of the lessee.
You probably can’t do anything about a company buying its own stock and it is not clear why you think that harmed you. If it’s publicly traded, treasury stock should not significantly change the valuation.
