3 years ago, I was discharged under chapter 14 ( pattern of misconduct). I received under honorable conditions and Re enlistment code of 3.
My question is What else could be changed if I am going to apply to upgrade my discharge?
Can they change the chapter number (from 14 to 13 or 11 for example)
Can also they change the separation code also (from JKA to something else)?
Or it is just the character of service and the renelistment code that could be changed?
I know upgrading a discharge is not easy but I think I have a chance because I just obtained some evidences that could help my application to get approved. Thanks
I assume you mean 'Other than Honorable' not 'under honorable'
No, the chapter basis would not change.
You will need to show your original discharge was inequitable (inconsistent with policy) or improper (in error or unlawful)--not just show new evidence.
Additional request would be required for separation/RE codes.
