Getting IID installed, just want to know the penalties if caught driving somebody else's vehicle.
Pursuant to G.L. c. 90 Sec. 24S, the penalty is as follows: state prison not less than 2½ years, not more than 5 years; or imprisonment not less than 180 days, not more than 2½ years; and fine of not less than $1,000, not more than $15,000; sentence may not be suspended or reduced to less than 150 days; no probation, parole, furlough, or good conduct credits until 150 days served.
The Registry will revoke any hardship license and impose a new 10 year license revocation.
