I live on the third floor of an apartment building in North Carolina. I took over a sub lease. The first day I moved to the apartment i smelled weed and i voices my concern over the balcony and closed my door. I didn't think anything else of it. The Friday we had a family fun night playing monopoly. We were laughing etc... a security guard came by stating I had a noise violation complain against me, took my name and i received a call from the management company. I swallowed that because we were in fact having fun laughing as a family. I apologized. On two several occasions the smell of cigarettes and Marijuana have come into my windows and patio door. I reported it. The office stated they would not do anything i would have to call Greensboro pd non-emergency line. Saturday came instead of Friday we decided to not play a game and instead watch a movie. At 1030 theres a knock on the door. My daughter says its security.. he says we have a noise complaint. I became angry. I told him the report was frivolous. He asked for my name i declined. The office emailed stating an innocent person would've given their name and ill be fined on the next complaint.
In regard to noise complaints, you are going to have to deal with management on your own. In regard to the marijuana, call the police the next time you smell it. Best of luck!
