In going through a Reverse Mortgage process a lien for $80k was found. According to Medicaid my Lawyer neglected to file paperwork by the deadline for the Child Care Giver Exemption on my mother's home. The paperwork was complete and to my knowledge everything was in order. You can attempt to contact the attorney to ask for compensation for your perceived loss, to reach a private settlement that avoids having a professional negligence claim filed against him. Otherwise, contact a trial attorney in your area that handles attorney malpractice for an initial consultation about your situation. They will usually talk with you for free to determine if there is something to pursue.
