The foundation under our house sunk and it caused cracks on the ceiling in the house and also garage. We had a company come out and texture it and paint it. The house isn't good, but we can live with it. The garage ceiling is not acceptable. The paint and texture was put on very thin and it doesn't come close to matching the rest of the ceiling. There is an alcove in the ceiling by the window that they never painted. You couldn't tell what a poor job they did until the paint dried. They also ran out of paint and went out into our outside building and took what was left in a 5 gallon paint pail and used it. We had this company out previously and this is the paint left over from that job. The owner said they would replace the paint, but they have not. I've sent them at least 10 emails trying to get them to come back out which they said they would and now I get no response to my emails or phone calls. The owner was in our kitchen and handed me the bill before the job was even finished. He was intimidating so I put the balance of what we owed him on VISA. What is the best way to handle this?
You could sue for breach of contract nut you’ll never collect from a small time contractor. Never pay in full until you are satisfied.
