Needed a emergency water heater fix over weekend. Charged me for that visit, Could not fix it. I was told approximate cost would be total of 2600$ including machine and service. They brought new machine and installed it 2 days later
( A working business day so technically not an emergency). Charged a 67% mark up on the machine and billed me 3800 $ ( plus the 300 plus on weekend). I was not informed about the mark up ever. What are my options. Have called them to resolve issue 3 times. Hasn't happened.
First, read all the paperwork that you were provided. Second, remember it's only an estimate. But, installing a water heat is a straight forward job and the estimate and actual charges should be close.
If you paid by credit card, contact the charge card company and register a complaint. They will stop payment and will look into the matter for you. If you lose, you can appeal the decision. Another option is to take them to small claims court. Good luck.
