2 yrs ago he was visiting his neighbor, they were drinking cause my son's baby was going to be born the next day. The neighbor had his brother there also and apparently they were messed up on meth and stabbed my son in the hand. My son left but returned to get his phone and the neighbor called the police and they charged my son's with residential burglary. He's currently serving time in Nevada but has filed an IAD to come fight this charge. The police got statements from drunks and meth induced neighbors. My son is innocent because I know this person who is railroading my son. We don't want public defenders because they don't spend the time in any case. My son is innocent..Please help out! It would be a blessing! Thank you
Sorry, but the free attorney in criminal cases is the public defender. Burglary is a serious charge and I doubt you'll find a lawyer to take the case on for free. Lawyers have bills to pay and need to be paid. Even the public defender gets paid to represent you, its just paid by the state and not you.
You're misunderstanding what pro bono means. It doesn't mean free. It means for the public good. IF your sons case has far reaching consequences that can better the criminal justice system or some other cause then maybe you'd find an attorney to take it for a reduced cost or free. But you won't find an attorney to simply work for free for you, especially when you have a free attorney at your disposal (the PD) and just don't like that choice.
It does not sound like your son is a juvenile. If he is doing time in Nevada, he is most likely over the age of 18. I would recommend that you change the practice area from "juvenile" to criminal defense or litigation.
