I took a drug test for a job. Because of my adderall prescription the test came back positive. I asked for a second test, and to show the tester at the lab my prescription, and she refused both. She also informed the safety director just outside of the room where 4 other employees were sitting, that it could be my medications...and that the tests would show if it were. The other employees knew I had obviously failed the test because I was the only one that the safety director had to go into the office for...the others were all let go without having to talk to the director.
Back at the company's office, I showed the company my prescription, and the matter was discussed in an open office with about 4 or 5 other people in the office...a secretary, a safety director, an electrical manager, the main site manager, and possibly one other random person in the office. The manager that oversees my job was also informed about the test and informed me that further testing was being done and what would happen if it showed up to be only my medication as i walked out.
I am not sure what your question is. What exactly do you think was not "handled properly?" The testing? The re-testing? The discussions with others? Did you get the job or get terminated from a job? If you could please elaborate on your question I'm sure someone might help.
