I got pulled over and got a ticket for failure of inspection. I didn't believe I need an inspection since my car is a 2011 model and I never got a letter or any type of notice that I was due for inspection
Your notice is the window sticker and the law. Get it inspected and go to court and it will be negotiated to a better ticket.

The answer is yes. Here is a link to The State of New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission website regarding inspections: http://www.state.nj.us/mvc/Inspections/Understanding.htm. After you get the vehicle inspection consult with a local attorney about the possibility of negotiating the fine amount in Court. Good luck!
Yes the officer was right in giving you the ticket and don't drive the car until you are taking it for inspection otherwise you could get another ticket. I suggest you just pay it, but if you want to go to court you can you may get the ticket reduced but your time is probably worth more than spending 3 hours or more in court. Good Luck
