I was caught shoplifting at the mall, store security brought me up with mall security. They got my information and called the police but the police didn't show up for hours so the store security cancelled the call and let me go but I am now banned from the mall. What happens now? Will I be charged since no police showed up?
You will probably not be charged criminally. You cannot go back to the mall, or you will be charged with trespass. You will get a civil demand letter in the mail asking for money. Most of us tell our clients to ignore those. Really, you most likely lucked out. Don't got back to that mall. If you are called by police or charged, get a lawyer. Do not talk to the police.

If the police didn't respond, it is unlikely that you will be charged. You should feel lucky and learn a lesson....
You are unlikely to be charged, but be wary of a summons or a capitals for your arrest if store security eventually contacted law enforcement. You should contact a bondsman and an attorney just in case.
