Vehicle with expired tags on private property
1 attorney answer
It is not illegal to keep a vehicle without tags or expired tags on private property. It is only illegal if you drive or park it on a road or parking lot used by the public. I would recommend removing the tags and turning them into the MVA. You can be fined for each day that you do not have insurance on the vehicle and are supposed to turn the tags into the MVA or renew them when they expire.

Just to clarify that some counties have passed zoning regulations restricting the ability to park inoperable or unlicensed vehicles on private property. You should check your own county's regulations.
