Start by making a claim with your own insurance carrier if you have uninsured motorist coverage. Let them deal with the hassle. You can go to small claims court if your insurance won't help you. If it's just $4,500 in property damage then it won't be worth hiring an attorney. You have to represent yourself in small claims court anyway. Best of luck.

It depends on what coverage you have under your own insurance. It might be your only option but you should first talk to your own insurance company who should give you some good advice.
