I have sent in an FOIA Request for information regarding a probate, the status of the request is "open" not sure what that means. Any input would help
The FOIA does not allow citizens access to any and all documentation requested. There are limitations, including court documents that are sealed. Many court documents, however, are public record and a FOIA request is not required, just a trip to the courthouse. What you're seeking to be disclosed may not be available to you. If it is "opened" I would assume it is still being processed, but if already denied it may not be accessible.
